This is a very recent pic of my daughter and her afro. To get this style she washed her hair, moisturized it, and picked it out (when wet). Then she pulled it into a puff (i.e ponytail for non-afro textured hair)and wrapped it around with a scarf. After her hair dried, she took out the puff, fluffed it with her fingers, and loosened the scarf. ta-da! The result is this lovely afro.
