Been going through some things. Hair still looks good though! LOL. Here I have it up in two ponytails with a headband wrapped around the front.
Put my dreadlocks up in a hair bun today. The higher the bun, the less heavy it feels. My buns tend to fall lower and lower throughout the day though LOL.
My hair tied up in knots. No secret to it, just tied up in knots. This blog entry written by Trula. Thanks for visiting Dread Mama!
Tried a new hairstyle, wore my hair like this most of September. Some folks find it confusing, but the front of my hair is not in dreadlocks. The long part is. I keep the front unlocked and short, basically so I can do my hair in various styles. Usually I just wear it in bangs, [...]
Me being silly with my hair. It’s so long, I can tie it under my chin LOL This blog entry written by Trula Breckenridge. Thanks for visiting Dread Mama!
Trying different ways of tying up my hair. My locks are very long which is no big deal but can get quite hot in the summer. So I like to keep it up in a bun on hot days, or up off my neck in some way. I usually don’t use anything to tie my [...]
The beauty of natural hair is the multitude of ways to style it. Here are my dreadlocks up in a draping ‘pony’ tail, with the unlocked front of my hair pulled up and pinned into a little bouffant. Shaved the sides down some more, loving it!
I had my hair all wrapped up today like a big nest piled on my head. It started to come down mid-day and had fallen to this point by day’s end. I like the way I wrapped it around the front. Subscribe to Dread Mama by Email
As you may know my hair is VERY long, nearly long enough to sit on. I have been wanting to trim my locks to an even belly-button length but my husband asked me to not cut my hair. So I have been experimenting around with different ways to put my hair up as I am [...]

I use my locks also to tie my hair up, see: The bandanna is just for decoration, basically. I do my hair in a bun with or without the bandanna. Try taking two dreads on both sides of your head and tying them together. If your locks are long enough to do that, then you [...]
Now ya’ll didn’t really think I walk around with all my hair trailing along behind me, did you? This is how I usually wear my hair. My hair is long enough so that I can just tie it up into a big knot. It feels much lighter in a bun, and is out of my [...]
These photos are from late August 2005. I put my hair up in a style called bantu knots. After I took them down a few days later, my locks were very curly. The curls lasted about a week. Click on pics to see big Subscribe to Dread Mama by Email
Here I am immediately after washing my very long and very heavy when wet dreadlocks. I washed my hair/scalp with a thin baking soda and water paste. Then after rinsing thoroughly, I rinshed my hair with apple cider vinegar. Then rinsed it out with warm water. This is a large beach towel and it almost [...]
To make my locks curly-looking I will twist several of them together when my hair is wet and let it dry, then take the twists out. This is a very cute look, I will have pictures of this hairstyle soon. I also recently did a straw set, which I have known about for a while [...]
